Lake Manyara National Park is a small but pretty National Park sandwiched between the Rift Valley Escarpment and a large lake on the road to Ngorongoro and Serengeti. The game here is varied but this Park is world famous for its tree-climbing lions.
Stretching for 50km along the base of the rusty-gold 600-metre high Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara is a scenic gem, with a setting extolled by Ernest Hemingway as “the loveliest I had seen in Africa”.
Olduvai Gorge is located in northern Tanzania and on the eastern side of the Serengeti plains. It is a world famous archaeological site where the earliest fossil remains of humans were found here by Dr. Richard Leakey and his wife, Mary Leakey.
The Serengeti National Park hosts the largest mammal migration in the world, which is one of the ten natural travel wonders of the world.
The Serengeti, which means “Endless Plains” is the jewel in the crown of Tanzania's protected areas, which altogether make up some 14% of the country's land area, a conservation record that few other countries can match.
Tanzania's oldest and most popular national park, also a world heritage site and recently proclaimed a 7th world wide wonder, the Serengeti is famed for its annual migration, when some six million hooves pound the open plains, as more than 200,000 zebra and 300,000 Thomson's gazelle join the wildebeest’s trek for fresh grazing. Yet even when the migration is quiet, the Serengeti offers arguably the most scintillating game-viewing in Africa: great herds of buffalo, smaller groups of elephant and giraffe, and thousands upon thousands of eland, topi, kongoni, impala and Grant’s gazelle.
Today, the Serengeti National Park, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and the Masai Mara Game Reserve across the border in Kenya, protect the greatest and most varied collection of terrestrial wildlife on earth, and one of the last great migratory systems still intact.
Ol Doinyo Lengai, the only active volcano in the area of the Serengeti, is the only volcano that still ejects carbonatite lavas. "Ol Doinyo Lengai" means "The Mountain of God"
The Ngorongoro Crater is often called ‘Africa’s Eden’ and the ‘8th Natural Wonder of the World,’ a visit to the crater is a main draw card for tourists coming to Tanzania and a definite world-class attraction. It is the world's largest intact caldera in an exceptional geographical position, forming a spectacular bowl of about 265 sq km with sides up to 600m deep. It is the stalking ground of 20 - 30,000 wild animals at any one time.
The crater is said to have the densest concentration of wildlife in Africa. As such, Ngorongoro Crater has achieved world renown. Even if time is limited this natural but accessibly small caldera ensures a rewarding safari.
Although animals are free to move in and out of this contained environment, the rich volcanic soil, lush forests and spring source lakes on the crater floor tend to incline both grazers and predators to remain throughout the year.
The Tarangire National Park: The gently rolling countryside here is dotted with the majestic baobab trees that first capture your eyes as you enter it. The park is spectacular in the dry season when many of the migratory wildlife species come back to the permanent waters of Tarangire River. Huge
herds of wildebeest, zebras, elephants, eland and Oryx gather to stay in Tarangire until the onset of the rains when they migrate again to good grazing areas.

Day 2: Ol Duvai Gorge. Serengeti National Park. Two game drives.
Day 3. Serengeti National Park. Two game drives.
Day 4. Serengeti National Park. Two game drives.
Day 5. Ngorongoro Crater.
Day 6 Tarangarie National Park.
Day 7. Return to Arusha. End of Safari.
Optional excursion to Zanzibar Island.

Price: Based on 1 double/twin and 1 triple rooms sharing, the cost for the above is GBP £3750.00pp. Single Supplement is GBP £360.00pp.
